Okay, I am posting this so I don’t have to think about the fact that in 1 hours 40 minutes I am having four teeth yanked out by the roots.

CAMPING !!!! YAY !!! You know, I have never really seen any insects at the coast. When I lived there, the wind was so strong all the time (aouth of Morro Bay) that it blew all the bugs into Atascadero. The only real pest is the sand.

Oooh, oooh….I thought of a really clever name for that kid who is going with me…not Jemima or Flapjack. How about this one: Aunt Paula’s Oldest Granddaughter? Whaddya think? Too cumbersome? I bet if you asked her she would want to be called Princess or Ella or The Enchanted One. Something commonplace like that….

Hope it’s warm enough to swim next weekend becase The Enchanted One and I spent all day getting the pool ready yesterday !!!!

You will be having a Paula Deen Dessert on Sunday. (Insert mysterious organ riff here.)

Hi it is the Jane Goodall of the south also known as Susan from Macon. Sop is to soak up something like gravy or as Lint will use it to sop up buttermilk with a biscuit. Dippy egg I have only heard from my friend who may have also picked it up from Paula Deen- in any event when she uses this dippy term she means a soft boiled egg. That is all the insight I have from the middle Georgia jungle. Perhaps a native could explain it better. Have a good day!

Hey - I have talked to several people and even googled “Dip Egg” and have no idea what she is referring too. Also, in response to the short horses, I was not referring to the worms riding horses, but the worm ranchers or “wormboys” riding the horses for the great worm round up on their big worm drive.

I looked up “fried eggs” and found this:

‘Over easy’, also called ‘runny’ — cooked on both sides but yolk is still liquid while the egg white is thouroughly cooked. This is occasionally called ’sunny side down.’ These are also commonly referred to as ‘dippy eggs’ or ‘dip eggs’ by Marylanders and by Pennsylvania Dutch persons living in southern Pennsylvania, mainly due to the practice of dipping toast into the yolk while eating. Also called ‘treasure eggs’ in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Thanks for clearing that up Fred! We were beginning to wonder about you… ;)

SUSAN! You made it! So glad to hear from you! Thanks oodles for the comment! We are going to keep your contact information in a file to refer to in the future should the need arise for a southern interpreter. Are you game? :)

Thank you Aunt Paula. I knew we could count on you.
