Walk and Talk 110 - Old Enough to Shave
by DAVe on Jul.29, 2010, under Podcast, Walk and Talk
I’ve been shaving for a long time. Since I was no longer a wee lad. And I’ve tried electric and manual shavers. I found this one shaver that pushes out the shaved beard. I thought it was too awesome and I never veered from it. I then got this freebie one in the mail, the Schick Hydro 5. I am totally sold on it. If you get a free one then try it out.

Send In - A Review
by DAVe on Apr.08, 2010, under Blog
There are a ton of writers to be found on the Internet; more and more everyday it seems. Justin Lowmaster has not been on the scene for very long. Strange thing to say when the podcast author era only started 5 years ago. Even if he is relatively new, Justin is quickly establishing his name and his talent on his own website, The Space Turtle. Justin can be found writing for other websites to: The Snark Tank Productions, 100 Word Stories and Great Hites.
He should think of changing his name to James Brown. I think he is the hardest working writer on the internet. Justin has found his niche and has only just begun his writing career. I recently read his short story Send In. He has tagged it as Suspense, Fantasy and Bizarro. I am familiar with the first 2 genres and I am quickly becoming a fan of the third. What is Bazarro? According to Wikipedia it is a contemporary literary genre noted for its focus on “high weirdness”. Send In is weird. Not the bad kind where you want to shun it to the far table at lunch to eat it’s tuna sandwich by itself. It’s the kind of weird where anything can happen and you glad it did and you call it over to sit next to you and share your chocolate milk. It’s a kick in the pants between the legs and a fun story to boot. Drop by Justin’s website and make a purchase for only $1. You get a digital copy of Justin’s great story and to encourage a great writer.
Bitter Release - A Review
by DAVe on Mar.30, 2010, under Blog
Scott Roche, the author of Archangel the podcast novel has just released his new the short story, Bitter Release. I had the opportunity to read Bitter Release and I loved it. It’s a story about a young soldier that finds himself buried under a mud slide in a cave in with only a case of absinthe and his memories to keep him company. The question is asked: will he escape or find his only release in the embrace of the green fairy?
It’s the question you ask until the last line of the story. A mix of a psychological downward spiral and a heroic ghost story. I was glued to every word from Scott’s imagination. I have heard Scott’s previous work with the Archangel series he podcasted himself as well as works he has read on Jeff Hites’s podcast Great Hites. Honestly, he has not knocked a home run every time at bat in the past. But, I can say with complete assurance that Scott Roche is rounding the bases on this outing. Do yourself a favor and buy a digital copy (Smashwords) of this story. You will own a great story but you will also be encouraging a great writer to get back to his computer and squeeze out more great stories from his mind.
Digital downloads come in every color and flavor. You are sure to find what you need.
